Product Description:
The closed suction catheter is a medical device used primarily to suction secretions from a patient's respiratory tract, allowing healthcare providers to clear the patient's lungs of secretions while maintaining mechanical ventilation and minimizing the risk of infection and injury to the patient. It can be used in the following situations:
- Patients with respiratory system diseases.
- Patients who require general anesthesia for surgical procedures or emergency resuscitation and require intubation or tracheal intubation.
- Infectious diseases (especially those transmitted through bodily fluids), highly infectious diseases (such as TB, SARS, and new influenza), and multi-resistant patients.
- Intracranial hemorrhage, susceptible populations (such as cancer and blood disease patients).
- Patients supported by an artificial respirator.
Product Features:
- Aspiration, oxygen supply and fluid injection can be activated simultaneously.
- Tube with frosted design can effectively eliminate staticelectricity.
- One-piece TPU elastic protection sleeve can effectivelyensure the airtightness.
- The fused head of suction tube body is rounded and the sideholes aresmooth, which can reduce thedamage to therespiratory mucosa.
- The prominent black ring printing on the tube body and thecolor printingonthe pediatrician make it easy to identify theinsertion depth of the tube body.
Usage:
- Select the appropriate suction catheter size (diameter, length, etc.) based on the patient's needs.
- The swivel connector at the patient's end is connected to the tracheal tube (or tracheotomy tube), and the machine end is connected to the anesthesia respiratory circuit. The vacuum device connector is connected to the negative pressure connection tube and the negative pressure suction device. When not flushing or administering drugs, close the one-way valve A/one-way valve B with a cap.
- Connect the infusion set with the sterile normal saline bag/bottle during flushing, and connect the end of the infusion set with one-way valve A.
- Turn on the negative pressure suction device when suctioning secretions, and adjust the negative pressure to a range of -80mmHg to -120mmHg(-10.7 to -15.9kPa)
- Lift the relaxed vacuum device with one hand and slowly insert the suction catheter into the tracheal tube with the other hand to the desired depth. At this point, press the vacuum device with your thumb while rotating and suctioning and lifting the suction catheter upwards. Retract the catheter to above the black indicator line.
- After suctioning, press the thumb on the vacuum device and open the saline solution flush for suctioning the tube.
- After the flush is complete, first turn off the saline solution, then release the vacuum device.
- Turn off the negative pressure suction device, handle used items, and make a record.
- Standard suction catheters are recommended to be changed daily, long-lasting ones every 72 hours, and sterile saline bags/bottles should be changed every 24 hours.
- The closed suction catheter for tracheal intubation is 600mm in length and is suitable for oral or nasal intubation; the closed suction catheter for tracheotomy intubation is 300mm in length.
-
The maximum suction pressure for adults should not exceed 150 mmHg, while the pressure for children should be between 80-100 mmHg. The actual suction time is recommended to be no more than 15 seconds.
Please note that closed suction catheter should be performed by a qualified medical professional following sterile procedures to minimize the risk of infection.
